Book yourself and the family in for a stay at any leading vacation rentals in Turks & Caicos Islands and chances are you’ll be spoilt for choice from the word go. What’s truly amazing about Grace Bay is the fact that you really don’t have to do anything at all to have an amazing time – simply being there and taking in what’s around you is a breathtaking experience. Regardless of the time of year, you head out, who you head out with or how much you’d ideally like to spend, you’ll find there’s so much to do (and not do) on a daily basis that you’re guaranteed to leave feeling there’s so much more still to explore.
And there is – this is precisely why you’ll be back!
Of course, there are certain highlights that stand head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to pure enjoyment and making memories to last for a lifetime. It’s impossible to regret a single thing you do when you’re in a beautiful corner of the world like this, but in order to get the very most out of your trip to Grace Bay, the following activities always rank right at the top of the true connoisseur’s list:
Horse Rides on the Beach
You’ve seen it in the movies, you’ve read about it in fairy tales and you’ve always wanted to do it – now might be the single best chance you’ll ever have to make it happen. There’s really nothing in the world quite like taking a horse ride down a glittering white sand beach with nothing to do but gaze longingly into the ocean and the swaying palms hypnotize you and send you into a world of pure bliss. Seriously – unmissable in every way.
Full Moon Light Shows, Courtesy of the Local Glow Worms
If there happens to be a full moon during your stay – always worth checking in advance – you might just bag yourself front-row seats for one of the most amazing light shows you’re ever likely to see. The local glow worm population that resides off the coasts of Grace Bay puts on the kind of spectacle you simply will not believe is the work of nature alone. Book yourself on a cruise and prepare to have your mind blown and your heart stolen.
Diving off West Caicos
You can pretty much take you to pick of the dozens of amazing places to go for a spot of diving while in the area, but chances are you won’t find anywhere quite like West Caicos. Certainly not for the faint-hearted, here’s a spot where you’re more likely to come face to face with a huge shark or eagle rate than the usual contingency of cute and quirky clownfish. If you’re serious about diving, this is seriously the place for you.
Deep Sea Fishing
If the only experience you’ve ever had of fishing consisted of sitting on a muddy bank by a brown lake in the drizzle and grey only to catch nothing but an old boot…well, let’s just so you’re long overdue a wakeup call. Deep sea fishing in this part of the world is an absolute joy of joys, not least because it gives you the opportunity to try your luck against the strongest fish in the world – the infamous bonefish!
Kite Surfing
There’s also no better setting in the world to try your hand at a spot of kite surfing for the first time, which may look like an impossible skill to master in a short space of time but is actually surprisingly simple to pick up once you take the plunge. There are world-class instructors and schools all over the place, so you’ll be in very good hands!
Meet the Local Dolphin, Jo Jo
You might see one or two famous faces while out and about across Grace Bay, but none are more famous or loved than Jo Jo the dolphin. If you’re lucky, you’ll get an up-close and personal introduction the likes of which you’ll definitely want to have your camera on standby for!
Whale Watching
You also simply must take the opportunity to embark on a spot of whale watching by booking yourself on one of the regular trips heading out from Grace Bay. There’s really nothing on Earth quite like seeing these gorgeous animals in their natural environment – a guaranteed winner for the whole family.
Wild Watersports
Last but not least, don’t pass up the opportunity to indulge in a good few watersports while you’re in town as when it comes to water-skiing, jet-skiing and similar forms of revelry, you’ll never find a more perfect setting than Grace Bay.
